Martin “Smash” Brown receives the Key to the City of Vicksburg

Vicksburg native Martin “Smash” Brown received the key to the city on Wednesday.

Brown accepted the honor, presented to him by Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr.

Brown has fought all over the world in many different organizations and compiled a 14-5 MMA record. Brown is currently ranked No, 1 in the lightweight division for bareknuckle fighting.

In December 2021, Brown wore Alcorn State gear for his  televised fight which went viral over the internet. Millions witnessed someone supporting a HBCU. That same night, he defeated Bobby Taylor on Pay-per-view.

ASU also honored Brown earlier this year for his support.

Brown is currently back in town because he has another huge fight this Saturday at the Jackson Complex Center against Robbie Peralta.
