Mary Clyde Ellis
Mary Clyde Ellis died Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Ridgeland, MS. She was 79.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Natchez, Mississippi to the late Climmie Clyde Burrow and Fannie Buckley Burrow. She had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1963. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Vicksburg where she was a member of the Gann-Sullender Sunday School Class and the Bible Explorers. She was also a member of the Openwood Plantation Garden Club and Green Hills Garden Club.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, Judge John E. Ellis, Sr. and a grandson, Bryton Ellis Ross. She is survived by her children, John E. Ellis, Jr. of Madison, MS; Clyde Emil Ellis (Mary) of Ridgeland, MS; and Bari Lynn Ellis-Ross (Matthew) of Hernando, MS; seven grandchildren: Kristen Dianne Ellis, John Edward Ellis, III, Christina Marie Hood (Matthew), Clyde Emil Ellis, Jr., Briley Elizabeth Ross, Bristol Lynn Ross, and Brynna Grace Ross; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday January 15, 2020 and Thursday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Gann-Sullender Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Mississippi Foundation/Judge John E. Ellis Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 249, University, MS 38677.
