In an exclusive interview with the Vicksburg Daily News, Mayor George Flaggs updated the water plant situation.

“We’ve got some breakage in our mainline we’ve got to find. We can’t find them until daylight. So you may be receiving some lower pressures or no pressure, but the plant is fine” explained Mayor Flaggs.

Water is out for many city residents and businesses, while others are experiencing low water pressure. Anytime water pressure is low you should boil your water before drinking it.

The mayor believes the leaks will be discovered and repaired soon after daylight.

Mayor Flaggs went on to praise the community, saying: “I think for the most part the worst is behind us. I want to thank all the people of Vicksburg for how they’ve worked with us and have been patient and diligent as we work through this. This has never happened in my lifetime before.”
