MBI issues Silver Alert for Monticello man

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has issued a Silver Alert for John Wayne Hedgepeth, 60, of Monticello, Mississippi, in Lawrence County.

Hedgepeth is a white male, 6 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 280 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen Wednesday, Dec. 9, at about 3:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Carmel New Hope Road in Lawrence County wearing a dark T-shirt, gray sweatpants and camouflage Crocs.

Hedgepeth is believed to be in a 2012 gray Ford F-350 4X4 bearing Mississippi license plate 5RR8574 and traveling in an unknown direction.

Family members say Hedgepeth suffers from a medical condition that may impair his judgement.
