McDonald’s donates 130 meals to first responders
The hazardous road conditions brought on by the winter storm have forced most businesses and restaurants to close.
With the safety of her employees in mind, Melanie Roach made the responsible decision to temporarily close all three Vicksburg McDonald’s locations that she owns until conditions improve. Today they opened the kitchen long enough to prepare meals for the first responders working in extreme conditions.
To support these hard-working men and women, Melanie and her son, Jeremy, decided to ask a couple of key members of their team if they would be willing to help by preparing meals just for them.
Crystal Luke, Tierre Brown, and Gala Thompson were more than happy to assist in the effort. Jeremy picked up the small crew of volunteers and they set to work preparing 130 meals to donate to the first responders in Vicksburg and Warren County.
Fire Coordinator Jerry Briggs was grateful for the kind gesture and the hot meal. He picked up the massive donation and delivered it to Fire Station 3, where the responders on all shifts will be able to enjoy a free meal as thanks for all that they do.
“The Roach family and the team at McDonald’s always step up to help,” Briggs said. “We are so lucky to have them in our community.”
