Summer McGee was sentenced on Tuesday morning to a 40-year sentence for the shooting death of Moses Luckett at New Main Apartments in May.

In May, McGee and Luckett were involved in an altercation at a gas station at the corner of Mission 66. McGee later went to Luckett’s apartment and shot him in the chest when he answered the door. A second shot was fired through the door after it was closed.

McGee then fled the scene but was captured on State Highway 3 by Yazoo county deputies just north of the Warren County line.
