McGivney led WC softball team to a profitable season
Warren Central High Head Softball Coach Dana McGivney led the Lady Vikes to a productive 2021 season where WC pulled off some big wins.
The season started off slow for the Lady Vikes, after two tough losses, but things quickly picked up as they went on a three-game winning streak.
Under McGivney’s leadership, WC was able to knock off big schools such as Pearl and crosstown rivals Vicksburg High School. Their biggest victory was a 16-1 win over VHS in March.
The Lady Vikes fought the entire season to keep their team with a balanced record. Many of their young players played a key role in WC’s good performances.
After a 15-3 win over Franklin County, the Lady Vikes season came to an end with a 10-12-1 record.
McGivney is now working with her team this summer to have a great next season. Lady Vikes are equipped with outstanding athletes that plan on returning next season.
