McMillin appointed interim Warren County prosecutor

Tuesday, Stephen McMillin was appointed interim county prosecutor by the Warren County Board of Supervisors.

McMillin will serve until a new prosecutor is elected in a Nov. 2 special election. He was one of three people who ran for the position in 2019.

McMillin, 38, is a graduate of the Vicksburg Catholic Schools, Mississippi State University and Oklahoma City School of Law. He and his wife, Jennifer Lynne McMillin, have three children: Lynlee, Lyla and Lochlan.

McMillin said Wednesday afternoon that he “is honored to serve.” He added that he has an excellent relationship with Youth Court Prosecutor Lane Campbell and Judge Marcie Southerland. McMillin plans to seek the position in the special election.
