MDOC officer faces charges relating to contraband

An Mississippi Department of Corrections officer who worked at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl was arrested on Wednesday on charges relating to introduction and possession of contraband.

Officer Brenda Denise Hicks was arrested by MDOC investigators on Wednesday at CMCF on charges which include introducing contraband (methamphetamine) and possession of contraband in the form of methamphetamine, trafficking contraband and extortion.

MDOC investigations are still ongoing to address the concerns of contraband to inmates.
