Recreational and commercial fishing and boating at Eagle Lake can finally resume tomorrow after having been prohibited since flooding began in February. The ban in waters surrounding the lake was lifted in August.

The Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, with the approval of the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, has determined the waters of the Mississippi River have receded to a level that an exigent high-water event no longer exists and that debris removal at Eagle Lake is sufficiently complete.

At current levels, recreational boating and fishing activity, and commercial fishing on Eagle Lake may be resumed by the general public. The previous Executive Order of February 2019 closing recreational boating activity at Eagle Lake has been rescinded effective Nov. 1.
