Mega Millions jackpot grows to $850 million

No lottery player came up with the right combination of numbers Friday night, so the Mega Millions jackpot has increased once again to around $850 million, the third largest jackpot in lottery history.

The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday night. Your odds for winning the top prize are 1 in 302,575,350.

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is $640 million. To claim it, you must correctly pick the five white balls plus the Powerball. Odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338

There are numerous secondary prizes in the games for picking various combinations of numbers. Prizes range from a few dollars to several million. You always have the option of allowing the computer to select your numbers, known as a quick pick.

Tickets for each game are $2 per play. For an additional dollar you can add a multiplier option that increases secondary prizes by the multiple of a number between 1 and 5. Both games are available at retailers throughout Mississippi and Louisiana.
