MEMA Director Col. Greg Michel hospitalized

Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Executive Director Greg Michel has been hospitalized with pneumonia, a complication from COVID-19, according to Malary White, director of external affairs for the agency.
Gov. Tate Reeves announced Dec. 9 that Michel had tested positive for the virus.
According to White, Col. Michel remains in good spirits and is grateful to the staff treating him and all those suffering during this pandemic.
White added that MEMA continues to operate normally to serve the State of Mississippi while taking every precaution to protect its staff.
