MEMA director tests positive for COVID-19

Greg Michel, executive director of the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Gov. Tate Reeves announced the news at his COVID-19 news conference Wednesday. Michel is usually a participant in the conferences; however, Reeves said Michel had tested positive Wednesday morning.
MEMA also posted the news on its social media accounts.
“After testing positive for COVID-19, Director Michel is self-isolating and is doing well,” the agency wrote on Facebook. “All employees who have been in direct contact with him were tested today. Those results were all negative. MEMA is fully operational. We’re taking the necessary precautionary measures to ensure the safety of all employees.”
