MEMA director to return to work after long struggle with COVID-19

Greg Michel, executive director of the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, will be returning to work Monday after a long struggle with COVID-19.
Michel first tested positive for the virus Dec. 9. On Dec. 20, he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, a frequent respiratory complication of COVID-19. Michel returned home Dec. 23 to finish recuperating.
Michel said he is looking forward to hitting the ground running again, WAPT reports, and is thankful for those who thought about him over the past few weeks.
