Meridian man arrested on cat poop warrant

A man from Meridian, Mississippi, was arrested by authorities after a neighbor filed a complaint about cat poop in her yard.
“And those wondering. It’s because a neighborhood cat has been going into my crazy neighbor’s yard and pooping. She believes it’s mine so she pressed charges. Even everyone at the precinct is confused about this and why a judge would even sign off on it. People that have spoken with her didn’t understand what she was saying,” said the accused, Tyler Lee Ethridge of Meridian, Mississippi.
I don’t know you
Ethridge claims he doesn’t know the neighbor that has filed charges against him.
“I could have sold her a car and wouldn’t know she was the one who swore charges on me, ” said Ethridge who sells cars for Kia of Meridian, Mississippi. “I thought it would be best to post about it and explain to people why I was arrested.”
The situation between Ethridge and his neighbor has been rocky for some time. “Now that I know it is her, this situation has been escalating for several months. One time she called the police because my kids walked the dog too close to her yard,” explained Ethridge.
In spite of the charges and having his story all over social media, Ethridge stated, “The support of family and friends has been wonderful. They tell me I’m a good guy, a really nice guy, and I am. I try to be the best me I can be.”
Tyler went out of his way to let people know this has nothing to do with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, “I love Kyle (the arresting officer). He’s been a friend of mine for a really long time.”
It’s not my cat, lady
According to Ethridge, the cat accused of pooping in the neighbor’s yard does not belong to him.
Social media is having a field day with the charges. Carla Belk said, “Who is your neighbor?? She would be bringing cat poop to court showing my cat’s DNA or give me my $500 back!”
Caytlin Downey said about Ethridge, “he wouldn’t hurt a freaking fly and they done got my boy for cat poop.”
