Meteorologist cautions of ‘historic’ heat wave across the south

The south is no stranger to heat waves, but the upcoming week could make the history books.
A “historic” heat wave is expected next week throughout the southern part of the continent. Wide-spread triple digit temperatures are expected across many states in the region.
According to European forecast models, the impending heat wave could be the worst since 2012, states meteorologist Dylan Federico.
“Yes, these are ACTUAL HIGH TEMPERATURES forecast by the European Model this afternoon. This looks to be worst heat wave since at least 2012,” Federico said on social media.
As far as the immediate forecast goes, the National Weather Service in Jackson has cautioned of an elevated risk of heat related conditions such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion.

The National Weather Service cautions those who work outdoors. Precautions should be taken to avoid heat-related illnesses, such as taking frequent breaks and drinking plenty of water.
