VHS Powerlifter Montgomery set bench press meet record

Vicksburg High School Powerlifter Michael Montgomery set a bench press meet record on January 29.

Montgomery was able to bench an impressive 405 pounds at the meet, where he will place second and advance to the North State meet in March. He is currently coached by Jimbo Nowell who is over the weightlifting program.

Montgomery is one of the strongest athletes in bench press in the state of Mississippi, which has helped him become an overall better athlete.

Michael Montgomery is currently in his senior year and will play football for Pearl River Community College next season.
