The man suspected of robbing Michel’s Music this afternoon is the same person arrested for breaking and entering at Divine Donuts.

Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones has confirmed that the as-yet-unidentified man from Leland, Mississippi, was arrested about 8 p.m. by Vicksburg Police officers after a neighbor saw them acting suspiciously on security cameras. They alerted police who responded quickly and spotted the man inside Divine Donuts.

The afternoon robbery at Michel’s Music was brutal. As reported by the Vicksburg Daily News, the alleged robber came into the building earlier in the day, according to eyewitness information. He then came back and went into the back of the building where a man had just finished giving guitar lessons. The robber hit the man in the head with a blunt object. The robber then went to the front of the store where 87-year-old Timmie Fedell was and hit her in the head with the same object. It is believed the man then took money from the drawer and fled.

A massive show of force was downtown searching for the man. Video cameras installed a few feet from the front door of Michel’s Music captured video of the man entering and leaving the store.

The man who gave guitar lessons was treated at the scene for his injury. Mrs. Fedell was transported to River Region Merit Health with a wound to the head. There is no update on her current condition but her wound is not expected to be life-threatening.
