Millard Lamar Davidson, 1940 – 2020

Millard Lamar Davidson died May 24, 2020, at his home in Vicksburg, Mississippi, of a sudden heart attack at the age of 79. He was born in Vicksburg July 23, 1940.

Lamar was a police officer for the Vicksburg Police Department for 25 years. After retiring, he went back for two years as Chief of Police.

Lamar married Linda Poole Davidson in 1966. They moved to Branson, Missouri, in 1991 but after her passing in September 2015, he moved back to Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Deck and Ozell Davidson; his wife, Linda Davidson; son, Mickey Davidson; his five brothers Marshall T. Davidson, Billy Ray Davidson, Jerry Lee Davidson Sr., Norris Davidson and Harley Davidson; and two sisters Miami Jewel Roberts and Linda Vance.

He is survived by his brother Darryl Davidson; sister Barbara Wooten; two daughters Donna Davidson Papa and Sherrie Davidson; three grandchildren David Schueneman, Sara Papa Dolankel and Erin Elise Papa; great-grandchild, Georgialyn Elise Allison; and a nephew, Jerry Davidson, Jr. who was there every time he needed him.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2020, at Glenwood Funeral Home chapel with visitation from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Rev. Marvin Curtis will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Davidson, Justin Tabor (Big Mac), James Davidson, Robert Dowe, Martin Pace and Milton Moore

Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Williams, Jack Dowe, Buddy Holiday, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Vicksburg Police Department and Vicksburg EMS.
