Minor injuries reported in McDonald’s vehicle/pedestrian collision
A 12-year-old boy who was struck by a car at a McDonald’s on Iowa Blvd and Highway 61 South at 10:05 p.m. on Sunday does not appear to be seriously injured.
The boy, from Florida, appeared to only have suffered minor injuries. He seemed in good spirits, gaining a bit of excitement from being transported by an ambulance. He was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
The vehicle which struck the child was driven by a couple out of Warren County. Both the parents of the boy and the couple who hit him appeared to be talking about the situation and seem to be in agreement that it was just a very unfortunate accident.
According to the driver, the child ran out in front of the vehicle. “My fiancé was driving. We were only going about five miles-per-hour and he just ran right into us.”
