Minor injuries reported in school bus accident

One of the busiest intersections in Vicksburg was the location of an afternoon accident involving a school bus and a van today.

Highway 61 North, southbound, just north of the intersection with Highway 80/822 was backed up in all directions while the accident was cleared.

The drivers of both vehicles had minor injuries. The school bus driver was transported to the hospital via ambulance; however, she walked to the ambulance on her own.

The driver of the work van also complained of minor injuries but declined to be transported to the hospital.

One child from the school bus was transported to the hospital for observation, reportedly with bumps and bruises.
