Wednesday night saw the first round of preliminary competition for the coveted title of Miss Mississippi. Miss Golden Triangle Holly Brand won Talent among the group and Miss Jones County Caidyn Crowder won Red Carpet.
“This is my second year with Miss Mississippi and this is my first preliminary win,” said Miss Golden Triangle Holly Brand of Meridian. “I was just so honored to be selected out of such a wonderful group of girls.”
Miss Jones County Caidyn Crowder was also complimentary of the other contestants in Wednesday’s group, and showed great pride of her hometown of Ellisville, Mississippi. When asked what she would do if she won the title of Miss Mississippi, Crowder turned the spotlight to those who serve our communities every day.
“I definitely would want to advocate my platform, Aid for First Aid,” Crowder said. “Spreading appreciation across our nation for first responders.”
If the first night of preliminary competition was any indication of what is to come, this year’s pageant promises to be one to remember. A triumphant return after the coronavirus pandemic hindered last year’s competition.
