Miss Mississippi, Emmie Perkins, is on her way to Mohegan Sun, in Uncasville, Connecticut to compete in Miss America 2023.

Perkins won her crown right here in Vicksburg on June 25th at the Convention Center.

After winning the preliminary in the Red Carpet phase, Perkins spoke with Alex Long about the experience.

The talented singer uses her love of music to make a positive impact on the community with her social impact initiative ‘Music is Medicine’.

Miss America 2023, the 95th edition of the pageant, will be held all week with the finale and crowning on Thursday night, December 15.
