The bodies of a young Vicksburg couple missing since late Tuesday night have been found.

Lillian “Libbie” Williams, 27, and Timothy McKnight, 30, were last seen late Tuesday, June 30, around midnight. They had dropped Williams’ sister off in Redwood.

The two succumbed as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash off of U.S. Highway 61 North between the Oak Ridge Road intersection and Keys Iron and Metal in Warren County. The car, McKnight’s 2011 model Lexus, apparently ran off the road early on Wednesday, July 1.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 5, a police department investigator spotted McKnight’s car in a wooded ravine, according to a VPD press release. The Lexus had left the roadway and struck a tree, killing both McKnight and Williams. Williams was seven months pregnant.

A team from the Vicksburg Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office had been searching for the couple since they had been reported missing.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
