The Mississippi Children’s Museum will be hosting a Dr. Seuss birthday celebration on Feb. 26.

Dr. Seuss’ Silly Birthday is a annual celebration for MCM visitors to experience Dr. Seuss’ magical literary world. The event will take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The event helps those learn fun science facts, explore the museum with a Seuss themed scavenger hunt and enjoy many more creative activities.

“Dr. Seuss was a storyteller that encouraged children to think outside the box as they explore the world of literacy,” said President and CEO, Susan Garrard in a press release. “MCM wants to inspire a love for reading and laughter in  learning, which is what Dr. Seuss did through his stories. Dr. Seuss’ Silly Birthday Party is a time to celebrate his work with a day of laughter and fun.”

Costumes for the event are encouraged.
