Mississippi COVID-19 cases at 249 with additional 42 reported

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting an additional 42 cases of COVID-19 coronavirus as of Monday morning, bring the state’s case total to 249 with one reported death.

Warren County has not reported any cases, yet. Neighboring Hinds County has reported 24 cases.

The victim age range shows no particular spike in any age group, with about the same number of cases in people 40 to 49 as those over 60.

Nearly a quarter of all reported cases in Mississippi are serious enough to require hospitalization.

The number of cases tested by the MSDH Public Health Laboratory is 1,392 as of March 22.
