The Mississippi Lottery Corporation is moving ahead to meet its scheduled launch date of Dec. 1, 2019.
Last Friday, the MLC announced it will begin taking applications from retailers to sell tickets. All potential retailers will undergo a background check and post a bond of $8,000 for each location, among other requirements.
Applications are available online on the MLC website.
In another MLC announcement, the board of directors of the Multi-State Lottery Association approved the Mississippi Lottery Corporation as its newest member allowing Mississippi to sell tickets for multi-state Powerball and Mega Millions games.
Those games will begin some time in the first quarter of 2020.
