A Mississippi man is facing assault charges after a video allegedly shows him driving his truck through a group of teenagers and using a racial slur.

According to a report by WREG, Mark Hall of Tippah County has been charged with nine counts of simple assault-attempt by physical menace to create fear.

A video that has circulated across social media allegedly shows Hall approaching a group of teenagers. Upon approaching the group, he is heard saying “finna get a few points” and proceeds to drive the vehicle through the group at an unsafe speed. After passing the group, Hall is heard using a racial slur toward the teens.

Parents have been outraged by the situation and many have filed charges relating to the incident.

“My son should be able to live his life, to grow up and to be a productive young man,” Willie Hill said to WREG. “Not to fear if he is going to be mowed down by someone that has complete disregard because his tan is darker than his.”

On Tuesday morning, many people were present to voice their concerns to City Hall. Hill stated the situation is “unacceptable” and that he does not intend to “be quiet about it.”

WREG stated they made attempts to reach out to the Ripley Police Department and Mark Hall. Neither has gotten back to them.
