Mississippi reports sixth coronavirus death
On Thursday, the Mississippi State Department of Health has reported one new death from the COVID-19 coronavirus in Mississippi, bringing the state total to six.
The case was a Rankin County male, aged 80 to 85, with underlying health conditions. He died while hospitalized.
Deaths have been previously reported in Hancock, Holmes, Tunica, Webster and Wilkinson counties.
Worldwide, more than 500,000 cases have been reported, and more than 23,000 people have lost their lives. In the U.S., more than 75,000 cases and more than 1,000 deaths have been reported.
