Mississippi Roots Salon Hosts Grand Opening

VICKSBURG, MSMississippi Root Salon on Pear Orchard hosted a grand opening celebration today.

Owner Mary Catherine Mullen hosted the event with the Warren County Chamber of Commerce. In attendance were notable locals including Mayor George Flaggs, Warren County Board of Supervisors President Kelle Barfield and Alderman Alex Monsour.

The event featured musician Booth Buys and a Mississippi Roots-themed food spread in the new space. Mississippi Roots is located at 100 Pear Orchard off of Highway 80. It offers a full complement of hair salon services, including manicures and pedicures. Piercings are also available.

Owner Mary Catherine Mullen has been doing hair and associated services for ten years in the Warren County community. You can call for any services at 601-630-7066. Appointments are recommended.

The mission of the Vicksburg Warren County Chamber of Commerce is to improve the quality of life in the community. On their website they note that the mission is achieved by promoting the growth and development of the business community through a series of programs and opportunities in networking, education, and training.

Following the first organization of the Vicksburg community committed to commerce and trade in the 1800’s, namely The Board of Trade of the City of Vicksburg, today’s Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce, also a founding member of the US National Chamber of Commerce in 1912, is active in serving the business community of Vicksburg and Warren County.  Throughout many decades, the organization has spearheaded important and consequential initiatives for the community many of them that have eventually stood on their own resources and continued to make a difference in the lives of all residents in the region.
