Mississippi sees another record spike in new COVID-19 cases with 404; Warren County cases increase by four
The Mississippi State Department of Health reports another record rise in new COVID-19 cases Friday with 404, bringing the total of confirmed cases in Mississippi to 9,090.
MSDH is reporting four additional COVID-19 cases in Warren County Friday. The number of cases now stands at 94. The county’s death toll is unchanged and stands at two. Eleven cases in long-term care facilities are under investigation in the county, also unchanged.
Statewide, MSDH reports an additional 13 Mississippians died of COVID-19, bringing the number of deaths in the state to 409.
Three of Friday’s reported deaths were from prior weeks identified through death certificate investigation.
Deaths and new cases were reported as of 6 p.m. Thursday, May 7. MSDH reports new statistics on the COVID-19 coronavirus each morning based on the previous day’s testing and death reports.
The number of estimated COVID-19 cases presumed recovered in Mississippi is 4,421 as of Sunday, May 3. This figure will be updated weekly.
