The Mississippi State University football team landed a big recruit yesterday as Sawyer Robertson committed to play for the Bulldogs.

Robertson, a 4-star quarterback recruit from Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas, made his announcement on Twitter Tuesday. He is currently a junior and will be a part of the 2021 recruiting class of high-school athletes.

In the 2019 football season, Robertson led Coronado to a 7-5 season and a playoff appearance. He threw for 3,914 yards and 44 touchdowns in his junior season which put him on the recruiting charts for many schools to look at him.

In the 2021 season, Robertson will be playing for MSU’s new head coach Mike Leach who recently took over the program. Robertson will be a two-sport athlete when he arrives to MSU because he will also play baseball.
