Missy Gators clinch their fourth consecutive district championship

The Vicksburg High School girl’s soccer team won their fourth consecutive district championship in a 7-0 victory over Greenville.
“We clinched district today in Greenville and today’s win makes us undefeated in district,” VHS Head Coach Samantha Bailey said.
We do face Forest Hill on Friday, but history shows that it’s going to be an easy game for the us.”
“Coming in from the holidays the whole focus has been playoffs. We came in knowing we had to win today and from here on out it’s just fine timing for the playoffs. This is my third year as head coach and my third district championship. This year our vision is to get past the first round of playoffs.”
The Missy started the game off slow and eventually took a 1-0 halftime lead. After a formation change in the last half of the game, VHS quickly put things away where the mercy rule was used due to the blowout.
Amari Johnson led the Missy Gators with four goals while Jamiyah Gaines, Leah O’Bryant and Midori Allen all had one goal. Ava Pritchard also had eight saves.
The Missy Gators will travel to Forest Hill on Friday.
