Missy Gators defeat Cleveland Central 8-6 on Thursday

Vicksburg High School got a 8-6 win over Cleveland Central on Thursday night.
Jordan Grace got a double early in the first inning and Lexi Kistler got a RBI to help bring in the first run score. Kistler also stole a base at home to help the Missy Gators go up 2-0 at the end of the first.
VHS went up 4-1 in the second after doubles by Kellisia Walker and Trinity McGloster along with RBIs by both Charli VanNorman and Grace.
The Missy Gators were able to maintain their lead in the fourth inning as VHS continued to rack up hits.
CC tied the game at five in the fifth inning after grabbing four scores before VHS could slow them down.
With RBIs coming from McGloster, Walker and Lili Kistler, the Missy Gators were able to regain the lead with the score sitting at 8-5 heading into the seventh.
VHS allowed only one score in the final inning as they took home the win.
”We made a few mistakes but we’re starting to hit the ball better and we’re hitting it hard so I’m very happy about where we’re at,” VHS Head Coach Brian Ellis said.
The Missy Gators finished with a total of 14 hits with McGloster going 3 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs. Charli VanNorman, Lexi Kistler, and Amari Johnson each got two hits in the win and Walker, Lili Kistler and Avery VanNorman got one hit.
Lexi Kistler also got three RBIs along with Grace and Charli VanNorman who each had one.
Lili Kistler struck out seven in the win.
