Missy Gators defeat Forest Hill, boys came up short in close match

Vicksburg High School girls soccer team earned their second district win of the season Tuesday night in a 7-0 win over Forest Hill.

Midori Allen got the first goal of the night for the Missy Gators in the ten minute mark. Abigayl Haigh scored her first goal to help give VHS a 2-0 lead.

Before the end of the half, Allen scored again with an assist by Erin Smith as the Missy Gators went up 3-0.

Alysha Murrell was instrumental in the second half for the Missy Gators by scoring two goals, with assists coming from Allen and Amari Johnson. Seventh-grader Tamiyah Davis scored a goal as well and Johnson picked up the final score of the night.

On the boy’s team, VHS hung in close with Forest but ended with a 4-2 loss.

Willie Moore scored first for the Gators with an assistant by Keegan Blount. Cameron Nailor got the second score of the night.

VHS will host Raymond on Tuesday.
