Missy Gators grab a overtime district win over Cleveland Central

Vicksburg High School girl’s soccer team got their second consecutive district win on Friday in a 6-5 overtime victory over Cleveland Central.
Halfway through the game, the score was tied at zero until the Warriors scored early in the second half. The Missy Gators quickly responded when Kennedy Mullins launched a beauty up and over the keeper’s head to tie the game at one.
The game was eventually tied 2-2 which resulted in an overtime and forced the two teams into a shootout. Mullins struck first for VHS but the Warriors answered as well.
The game winning scores were brought in by Alysha Murrell and Jamiyah Gaines to give the Missy Gators a 5-4 win.
The victory gives VHS a 2-1 district record under head coach Samantha Bailey.
