Missy Gators are on a eight game winning streak after beating Ridgeland on Saturday

Vicksburg High School girl’s basketball ball team got on the road to play Ridgeland on Saturday and came back with a 60-55 win.

The Missy Gators quickly took a 18-11 lead at the end of the first quarter and by halftime they were up 33-30.

Layla Carter led VHS on the night with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Destini Sims put up 13 to go along with her five rebounds and four assists.

VHS maintained their lead throughout the third quarter by going up 45-38 with the help of Ja’Na Colenburg who finished the game with four 3-pointers (12 points).

Janiah Caples also came in clutch by adding nine points with four rebounds and four assists.

Kiera James grabbed seven rebounds and finished with five points.

The win gives the Missy Gators a 12-3 record and advances their winning streak to eight under head coach Troy Stewart.
