Missy Gators powerlifting team continues to dominate as one lifter is headed to the state meet

The Missy Gators powerlifting team have been competing since February and the ladies are continuing to improve while one is heading the the state championship meet.

On February 7, the Missy Gators had their first regional meet at Neshoba where the girls competed in different weight classes. Amari
Johnson placed second in her weight class and Tyra Wardley placed third as both lifters advanced to North State.

On March 3, the North State competition was held in Lake Cormorant where Johnson finished in second place and she now moves on to the State Championship Meet that will be held in Jackson at a later date this month.

“This is the first year for Miss Johnson as well as the majority of the competitors and they have done an excellent job,” Coach Andre Bennett said.
