The Vicksburg High softball season came to an end on Tuesday night after a 13-8 loss to Ridgeland High School.

“This time is always rough and you want it to end on a positive note but unfortunately it wasn’t our time I’m proud of them and I’ve been with them for a long time and they really put a stamp on the program,” VHS Head Coach Brian Ellis said.

Harmony Harris got a home run in the first inning to get the Missy Gators started and they would eventually go up 3-1 at the end of the second after a double from Vijae Flaggs and a single from Amari Johnson.

Ridgeland picked up two runs in the third while VHS grabbed two in the fourth. Late in the game, the Titans took a 6-5 lead after home runs from Humphrey and Hill.

The sixth inning would be crucial to VHS as Ridgeland picked up five runs including another home run from Hill.

The Missy Gators never would regain the lead and took the season-ending loss.

VHS had another fulfilling season under head coach Brian Ellis who led the team to three straight district titles. They will graduate Charli VanNorman, Lexi Kistler, and Vijae Flaggs.
