Mobile home fire on Boyscout Road proves to be a long and tedious battle
VICKSBURG, Miss. (Vicksburg Daily News)–A mobile home on Boyscout Road in Warren County caught fire Friday evening, and the excessive heat created a challenge for firefighters as they worked to extinguish the blaze.
At around 6 p.m., the first units arrived at the manufactured home, which was billowing thick smoke, and confirmed that everyone was safely out of the burning house.
Due to the extreme heat, firefighters had to rotate out more frequently than usual. Compacted roofing materials on the home created additional challenges for firefighters to gain access and get water where it was needed.
Due to the location of the fire, firefighters are having to work it a little at a time to ensure it’s extinguished safely. As of this reporting (8 p.m. Friday), firefighters are still working the scene.
We will follow up after the flames are extinguished and we can gather more information.
