Zsa Zsa’s is getting ready for Valentine’s Day, one of the busiest times of the year.
Nicole Gilmer and Sheila Simmons have been in the retail business in the Vicksburg community for over 25 years. Together they own and operate Zsa Zsa’s Gifts. “My mother and I are partners in the store. Our favorite part, aside from helping customers, is the time it enables us to spend together.”
And of course, her in-laws are the Gilmers. She and Chris Gilmer met through mutual friends in 1998. They married in 2006 and have one son, Maddux, who is 12 years old.
When asked about the name, Gilmer said, “Zsa Zsa is actually my mother’s “grandmother’s name”. We’ve been in business since 2009. We’re a traditional gift shop and we try very hard to have a gift for anybody, for any occasion, and at any price point.”
Her mother-in-law, Margaret Gilmer, was a strong influence on Nicole and a big part of her life.
“We were very close,” said Gilmer. “With me being in retail she really helped me through the years. She was also a great mother-in-law and was very involved with Maddux. She was always happy to help me with any questions I had. She was such a smart lady and loved her family and was a business genius. There really wasn’t much she couldn’t do.”
Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest times of the year for Zsa Zsa’s.
“We have lots of great gift options from little happy’s for the kids, beautiful Amaryllis Bulbs (guys, she’ll love it- fresh flowers that last for months), we’ve got jewelry, Tyler Candles and detergents, Mississippi-made pottery, Musee spa line, Ronaldo Bracelets, Barefoot Dreams, PJ Harlow. Just a wide variety of gifts for anyone. We’ve got great Valentine’s gifts, and we’re getting in so many great things from Market for Easter baskets!”
Gilmer goes on to say, “All of the gift-giving holidays are fun for us, we appreciate being able to be a part of each customer’s celebrations” making Zsa Zsa’s a perfect place for the guy who might need a little help finding the right gift for his family.
Zsa Zsa’s is located on South Frontage Road near Tamale Place and right across the interstate from McDonald’s. They are open Monday- Friday 10 am – 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am – 4 pm. They offer gift wrapping and local delivery as well.See a typo? Report it here.
