Due to incoming storms, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency has issued a Weather Alert for Mississippi.

The Alert warns that the storm could bring tornadoes, some of which could be strong, with damaging winds up to 80 mph and hail the size of golf balls.

You are advised to stay weather-aware, have several ways to receive alerts, and know where your safe place is in case of bad weather.

Locally, John Elfer with Warren County Emergency Management reported the storm would hit Warren County between 8 and 10 a.m. It is anticipated to be as strong as last night’s storm. The latest weather map shows the worst of it passing south of Warren County; however, be aware of changing weather conditions.

As always, the Vicksburg Daily News will update infomation as it is made available to us.
