Stabbing at Motel 6 results in death, one in custody

One person is dead after a stabbing at Motel 6 on Tuesday. Vicksburg police arrested a suspect at the scene.

At around 8:25 a.m., police and first responders were notified of a stabbing at Motel 6, located on Frontage Road.

The first units on the scene reported a woman had barricaded herself in room 229 of the Motel and that someone had been stabbed. Moments later, Vicksburg police had taken a woman into custody.

Warren County Fire Coordinator Jerry Briggs was the first medic on the scene, joined shortly after by Fire Medic 41. A call for the coroner followed.
