Mother of three found dead outside her home in Natchez

Devonica Hammet, a 25-year-old mother of three, was found dead on her lawn early Saturday in Natchez, WLBT reports.

Hammet was found with a gunshot wound to the chest on Saturday morning. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office dispatched the Coroner’s Office around 5 a.m. to her residence on Country Club Drive.

There is no indication her children were at home when the shooting occurred at the time of this report.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
