Mountain of Faith Women’s Ministries giving away free Christmas backpacks to area children

Mountain of Faith Women’s Ministries is giving away free backpacks to the community’s children for Christmas.

The giveaway is taking place at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 1607 Cherry St., Saturday until 2 p.m.

“Spread the joy to your child or grandchild this Christmas,” said Betty James, executive director.

Bring your child or grandchild with you when you stop by. Backpacks are available for boys and girls from 2 to 17 years old and are filled with donations from area churches and the community.

The ministry is also asking for donations of cleaning supplies, tissue and paper towels for the women’s shelter.
