Mrs. Thomas B. Forbes, Jr., 1928-2019

Mrs. Thomas B. Forbes, Jr. passed away on Nov. 23, 2019 in Vicksburg, Miss.  She was 91 years of age.

Her husband, Thomas B. (Tom Boy) Forbes, Jr. (a former sheriff of Marion County) predeceased her, as did her only daughter Karla McDaniel of Purvis and two of her sons: Patrick Forbes and Michael Forbes of Warren County.

She is survived by two sons: Jeffrey Forbes and Thomas Forbes, both of Warren County.  All family members were formerly residents of Marion County.  She is also survived by her brother, Gordon Cotton, of Warren County.

Mrs. Forbes, nee Marguerite Jean Cotton, grew up in south Warren County and attended Jett High School in Vicksburg from which she graduated as the Valedictorian.  She met her husband, Thomas, when he was employed at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Water Ways Experiment Station in Vicksburg.  After their marriage they moved to Columbia, Miss., where her husband and his brothers established the Forbes Motor Company.  She was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by Jeffrey and Thomas.

Services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, Miss., on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until the hour of service.  Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery with Reverend Cory Odom officiating.
