MSU defensive back Jarrian Jones enters transfer portal
Jarrian Jones, a rising sophomore and football player for Mississippi State University, has entered the NCAA transfer portal and is in search of another program to join.
Jones is a defensive back for the Bulldogs and played in 11 out of 13 games last season. He finished his freshman year with 12 tackles, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery in the 2019 season.
He was a 4-star recruit from Northwest Rankin High School in Flowood, Mississippi, where was the No. 18 safety in the class of 2019 and the No. 13 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.
Jones’ transfer marks the sixth player to leave MSU since March. Fabien Lovett transferred to Florida State, Brevyen Jones went to Illinois, Keytaon Thompson to Virginia and Stewart Reese took the graduate transfer route and went to the University of Florida.
Jones has not announced where he intends to go next, but if he transfers to another Division 1 school, he will have to sit out a season due to NCAA transfer rules.
