Mississippi State women’s basketball player Chloe Bibby has decided to transfer to Maryland to finish out her college career.

“I would like to thank all the universities and coaches who took the time and effort in contacting me during this process,” Bibby wrote in her Twitter announcement. “I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my education and basketball journey at the University of Maryland. Go Terps!”

Bibby led the Bulldogs with 38 three-pointers last season playing under head coach Vic Shaefer. The decision of her transfer came shortly after Shaefer moved to the University of Texas to become the women’s basketball coach there.

“I also want to say a massive thank you to Mississippi State University and the bulldog family. I will be forever grateful for the love and support you showed me as a person and player,” Bibby wrote.

Overall in the 2019-2020 season, Bibby put up 7.5 points per game along and averaged 5.2 rebounds. Bibby’s season was cut short by a knee injury, but she made an impact on the Bulldogs when she was healthy.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Bibby will have to sit out next season. She will be eligible to play again in 2021.
