MSU’s Fabien Lovett transferring after coach’s tweet

Redshirt freshman Fabien Lovett decided to transfer from Mississippi State shortly after head coach Mike Leach tweeted a meme of a woman knitting a noose.
Lovett was a starting defensive lineman for the Bulldogs last season where he racked up 19 tackles and one sack on the team’s way to a bowl game appearance.
Earlier this week, Leach issued an apology for the tweet that offended many of his players and at least one member of the MSU faculty. Leach is going into his first year as head coach for the Bulldogs, but losing a key player such as Lovett is not a good move for an incoming coach.
Lovett was a three-star athlete from Olive Branch High School, and he has three full years of eligibility left to play for the school where he will transfer.
