Kacie Lindsey is the supervisor of the Vicksburg Animal Shelter but spent her Fourth of July assisting another county that has no shelter or animal control. During that time, she and volunteer Tracy Chaney took in a beagle with a leg injury around noon that day.

Not many details can be released on the case at this time, but the beagle, who has been named Nadine, was taken in as part of an animal cruelty case involving 24 animals. 11 of the 24 were taken in and Lindsey plans to retrieve the remaining 13 on July 6.

Special care is always taken regarding the animals that Lindsey and her volunteers rescue. However, Nadine slipped out the door and escaped her caregivers.
